Welcome to the website of the PDCL.

The League covers the traditional coalfield areas of West and South Yorkshire.  Many teams within the League have strong historic links with the coal industry and proudly bear the names of the collieries they served.

The League seeks to provide and foster grass-roots cricket within all communities and the Divisional structure enables teams to compete against other teams of similar playing standard.

SATURDAY APRIL 21st

Having taken into consideration the adverse weather of the last 6 weeks, together with the limited time that groundstaff have had/will have to work on their grounds, including all the necessary pre-season preparation and significant rolling, the League Management Committee have decided that the fixtures scheduled for Week 1 – April 21st will now be postponed.  ALL the fixtures scheduled for Saturday April 21st will now be played on Saturday September 22nd.

To accommodate this the Division 6 fixtures already scheduled for September 22nd will be moved to an alternative date.  The 3 dates available are : Sunday July 22nd, Sunday August 26th or Monday August 27th.  Clubs involved should liaise with each other to select an appropriate date – the decision should be conveyed to the League Secretary by the end of May.

To help in coming to this decision the LMC have visited the majority of grounds over the last week or have had conversations with many others.  Some grounds might be ready for play, equally there are a large number where NO preparation has been possible yet.

It is important that ALL home teams contact the umpires scheduled for their match to advise them of the decision

This is a ‘one off’ decision due to the exceptional circumstances that we have faced in recent weeks and will not be repeated should further Saturdays be lost during the season.
